Citibabes

Citibabes (www.citibabes.com) of New York opened long before I became a parent and saw the necessity of such a service. I only wish I had one in my neck of the woods. Just think of a place where your kids are taken care of while you enjoy a day at the spa after a grueling workout. Kids seem to like it too, with cooking, language, and a host of other classes to keep them occupied. If you live in the Big Apple and have a sizable disposable income, it's worth checking out.

Maternity Bride

If it wasn't for my pudgy face during pregnancy, I would happily go back to those months of being with child. I enjoyed my pregnancy and totally believe that it's an incredible experience that radiates beauty. With that being said, there is no reason for a pregnant bride to still not have the well...blushing bride appearance. Hands down Joie Lee's maternity bridal gown in Mo'Better Blues has my vote. However, the gowns located at Maternity Bride (www.maternitybride.com) has a hosts of dresses for under $1,000 that'll make any pregger feel proud to show off their bump on their wedding day.

Kid Boutiques

Certain children's boutiques make you feel happy that you're part of that parents- with-children club, in which you can make up reasons for buying that nifty wooden bike or that eye catching painting that would be sure to pop on the wall. I came across Mini Jake in Brooklyn that also has an online store at www.minijake.com that could allow you to splurge on those hard to find pieces such as the slick high chair or the Emily Green placemats.

Monchichi Monkey

I remember this doll from my childhood and always wanted to past it onto my own children. I finally found it at www.pommenyc.com for a recession friendly cost of $15. The boutique is located in Brooklyn and makes me kind of miss the ol' BK.

Veronica Chambers' Clothing Line

I'm a big fan of the author Veronica Chambers, so I was delighted to see her handmade children's clothing line, Florabunda. Unique pieces that were inspired by her book Cecelia Cruz, Queen of Salsa can be purchased at www.etsy.com.

Munchkin Fresh Food Feeder

Just when I was getting the hang of feeding my sweetie, it's almost time to introduce food. I'm a little nervous about this journey into solids, so much so that I try to ignore her rising interest in my food while I eat. However, this fresh food feeder eases my angst. You can put the fruit or vegetable in the munchkin feeder (www.munchkin.com) and your child could chew or suck the contents, thus reducing the choking hazard.
